James “Jim” Gunther Zilonka of Florissant, Colorado went to be with his Lord on the morning of January 3, 2019 at the age of 65. After struggling with multiple health issues over the years, he passed alone in his home.

Jim was a true lover of life and lived it to its fullest! A native of Northern California, he grew up enjoying the great outdoors, and especially loved his time living and working in Yosemite National Park before moving to Colorado in the late 70’s. Some of his exploits included daily jumping off of cliffs with his hang glider, embarking on a solo drive across the continent to explore Alaska, and taking his daughter and faithful canines on all sorts of adventures, both local and across the country. Jim eventually settled on his own land in the Lake George area where he became an integral part of the local community. He was a hard worker, a successful business man, a loving father, and a loyal friend. But most of all, he was a true lover of his Lord and Savior. Jim was an ex-Mormon and his never ceasing goal was to reach as many people as possible with the truth of Jesus Christ. He spent over the last three decades of his life in full time ministry through his radio broadcast, website, and monthly newsletter called Cultivate Ministries.

Jim will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Tiffany (Mark) and two grandchildren (Lyla and Atlas) in Florence, Alabama. He was predeceased by his parents, Gunther and Naoma, and siblings, Dick and Jean.

His life will be celebrated with a service and burial at The Florissant Pioneer Cemetery on Saturday, January 12th, 2019 at 9:30am.
