Thomas Scanlon was born on Oct. 4, 1945 to Thomas and Lucienne Scanlon.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Micheal. He is survived by his sisters, Joan and Valerie, much adopted family, and many dear friends.
Tommy was a devout follower of the Catholic faith, he participated in Mass daily, wherever he was in the country. He was a familiar face at Our Lady of the Woods Parish in Woodland Park, Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Colorado Springs. and the Holy Rosary Chapel in Cascade.
He was very proud of his service in the US Air Force. He was stationed in Japan in the late 60's.
Tommy was a telephone repairman for "Ma Bell" in the 5 boroughs of New York in the 70s and 80s. After retiring, he began driving advertising trucks all over the country. Enjoying the adventure but always finding a local parish for daily prayer.
Tommy was methodical, inventive, generous, kind and always ready to lend a helping hand. He was a regular blood donor and a daily patron of the Hungry Bear. He was enthralled with his 3-d printer and used it to make artistic and practical objects.
He loved to travel by Greyhound bus, see the country and meet "the most interesting people". He loved his little cabin in the mountains.
His final days were spent with his "family", Andy and Joanna, in Aurora.
Tommy touched many people's lives throughout his life. He will be remembered, and he will be missed.
Eternal rest grant onto our brother, Tommy, Oh Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon him. May Tommy's soul and all the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace.
In lieu of flowers a memorial donation to the food pantry at Sacred Heart Parish would be appreciated. (parishsoft.com)
