Williams "Fergie" Ferguson

Williams "Fergie" Alfred Ferguson, DDS, was born April 13, 1942, in El Paso, TX. Fergie passed away December 12, 2019, in Woodland Park, CO. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Williams Arthur and Mrs. Cleo (McKenzie) Ferguson of Mt. Pleasant, TX.

To carry on Fergie’s legacy and love for life and family, he is survived by his wife, Dr. Lani Gossett of Guffey, CO; sons, Williams Anthony Ferguson and Samuel "Sam" Drew Ferguson of Mt. Pleasant, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Candice Ferguson Tutt and Bryan Tutt of Freeport, TX; grandchildren, Trey Rainosek of Denver, CO, Taylor Rainosek of Richmond, TX, and Joe Tutt of Freeport, TX; sister, Margaret Jane Ferguson Burrows of Mt. Pleasant, TX; niece, Suzan Burrows Garrett of Mt. Pleasant, TX; and nephews, Britt Burrows if Tulsa, OK and Dr. Brad Burrows of Mt. Pleasant, TX.

Fergie grew up in Mt. Pleasant, TX, and graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1960. He attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX and completed his bachelor degree at  East Texas State College in Commerce, TX. Fergie received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1967. He practiced dentistry in both Mt. Pleasant, TX, and Houston, TX. After retirement, he moved to Guffey, CO, where he has resided for the past 16 years. 

Fergie was a son, brother, father, uncle, husband, grandparent, friend of Bill W., dentist, adventurer, reader/learner, beekeeper, and builder/carpenter. Over the years, his guidance and friendship helped many people through difficult times. He shared a fun view of life with everyone he met; as many would say, "he was a character". His love for living and free spirit will continue through his family and friends.

A special thanks goes out to the amazing staff at Forest Ridge Senior Living Center in Woodland Park, CO, and especially to the staff in the Blue Spruce Memory Care Wing. Your love and care over the past 2 years was a great comfort to Fergie and his family.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be at 1:00 pm Thursday, December 19, 2019, at Mountain Memorial Funeral Home in Divide, CO, with family members and friends serving as eulogists. Burial will be at Lake George Cemetery, 40421 Country Road 77, Lake George, CO, immediately after.
