Wayne Matthew Kolacki (“The Big Kielbasa”) passed away on May 17, 2026, at the age of 74, at his home in Florissant, Colorado.

Wayne was born on June 1, 1951, in Berwyn, Illinois, to Raymond and Arlene Kolacki, both of whom preceded him in death. As the oldest of three children, Wayne grew up with a strong sense of family and responsibility. He graduated from Argo High School, where his exceptional talent as a pitcher earned him an opportunity to go straight to the major leagues. Instead, he chose to pursue higher education at Purdue University.

On May 29, 1971, Wayne married the love of his life, Diane Kirsch, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned more than five decades.

Wayne began his career as a diesel mechanic, demonstrating a strong work ethic and determination. Over time, he advanced into leadership roles within the waste disposal industry, earning multiple achievements and accolades for his dedication and performance.

In his spare time, Wayne found great joy in golfing and fishing across the lakes of Minnesota, often accompanied by a fine cigar and good company.

Wayne is survived by his beloved wife, Diane Kolacki; his son, Jeremy Kolacki and his wife Becky; and his daughter, Heidi Swanson and her husband Kevin. He was a proud grandfather to Amelia and Jack Kolacki. He is also survived by his brother, Chester Kolacki and his wife Maria; his sister, Linda Barthel; godson Terry Kolacki; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.

Wayne will be laid to rest at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Justice, Illinois.
