Wanda Jeanne (Larrington) Becker of Divide, Colorado passed into the presence of her Savior around midnight on November 15, 2024, in Colorado Springs, Colorado after a brief battle with interstitial lung disease causing pulmonary fibrosis. After six weeks in the hospital including three weeks on a ventilator, and with little hope of improvement, she chose to end treatment. She was 70 years old.
Wanda was born May 11,1954 in Gettysburg, South Dakota to John and Alice (McGilvrey) Larrington. She was the eldest of five children. At the age of 16 her family relocated to Columbus, Nebraska. Following high school Wanda worked for evangelist couple Aubrey and Monica McGann. Here she met her lifelong best friend Jeaneane (Linn) Parsons. Later, moving to Lincoln, Nebraska, she worked at Back to the Bible broadcast and then for the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service. In 1986 she accepted employment at the Navigators organization and moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado. Here she met her husband, Richard (Dick) Becker at church where both were active in the choir and the singles group. They were married June 16, 1990, at the First Evangelical Free Church in Colorado Springs. Their marriage was blessed with two sons Christopher and Benjamin. Wanda loved her family. She enjoyed reading, cross stitch, crochet, and scrap booking.
Wanda is survived by her husband Richard Becker of Divide, Colorado, two sons and their wives Christopher (Chris) Becker and wife Jasmine, and Benjamin (Ben) Becker and wife Casey; two granddaughters Mica Becker and Felicity Becker with a grandson on the way, all of Cripple Creek, Colorado; sisters Linda Starkey and her husband Ben of Waverly, Nebraska, and Judy Seefeld and her husband Steve of Columbus, Nebraska and one brother Dan Larrington and his wife Paula of Pinehurst, Texas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her parents and one brother Mike Larrington.
Her memorial service will be held at Little Chapel of the Hills in Divide, Colorado on December 7, 2024, at 11:00 am.
