Vicki Lynn Smith

Vicki Lynn Smith was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. We lost this beautiful soul too soon on January 29, 2022, at age 66.

She was born to Dale and Carol LeFevre on April 7, 1955 in Los Angeles, California. She grew up with 4 siblings: Todd, Michael, Tami Jo and Connie. She graduated from Batavia High School in Batavia, Illinois. As a young woman she loved to ride horseback.

Vicki moved to Colorado Springs in the late 70s where she met Richard Smith working at Shepard’s / McGraw-Hill. Together they had 3 children: Luke, Alicia and Justin. They moved to Westcliffe, Colorado in 1989 after the birth of Justin where they raised their 3 children.

Mama Bear Vicki sparkled in the presence of her children and grandchildren. She loved being in the presence of her family for every holiday and event. Vicki had a laugh that lit up a room. She was humble and unguarded, with an easygoing nature that put all at ease around her and allowed everyone to be themselves. She did anything to make her grandchildren laugh: hide-and-seek, rocking out, dancing, and crawling on the floor. Vicki was a caretaker for her granddaughter, Addy, to whom she passed on her adventurous spirit and zest for life.

She looked forward to yearly trips to the beach with her sister to soak in the sun and surf. The sound of the ocean and seagulls, the company she kept, and bronzing in the sun made her feel at peace.

Vicki was a woman unrattled and firm in her faith. She loved to dance, and we know she is dancing with Jesus and the angels. Vicki was involved with her church’s Quilting Ministry and treasured the time she spent in community with other women.

Vicki is predeceased by her parents Dale and Carol, her brother Todd Michael, sister Tami Jo, brother Michael David, and nephew Jeremy Jon.

Vicki is survived by her sister and best friend Connie Brown; her nephews Ryan, Aaron and Casey; the father of her children Richard Smith; her children and their spouses, Luke and Meghan, Alicia and Mark, and Justin and Cassie; and her grandchildren, Drew, Kellen, Luke, Adalynn, Rowen and Clara.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11am on February 7, 2022 at Calvary Worship Center in Colorado Springs, CO.
