Van is survived by his wife, Mary, of 32 years and daughter Mackenzie, brothers Stan, Kenny and Dana Hass.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dott Boutwell Hass and Reginald Stanley Hass Jr., his son, Zachary Hass and sister-in-law, Beth Ann Stamper Hass.
