Thomas D. Daniel (Tom) died Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at home at the age of 71 of heart failure. He was a resident of Florissant, CO.
Tom was born in Albuquerque, NM on February 14, 1951, to Luther and Lucille Daniel. He was a pleasant surprise addition to the family after an 11 year gap, of three older siblings. Tom married Rebecca Daniel on January 3, 1974 in Phoenix, AZ. He attended schools in Phoenix, AZ for his childhood education and attended and graduated in 1973 from Grand Canyon College (later known as GCU). Tom also received his doctorate degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX.
Tom and his wife served in foreign missions in Asia for 25 years. After their mission service he pastored at Rocky Mountain Chapel in Cripple Creek, CO 2007-2013. After retiring he continued service as an online theology professor for his alma mater (GCU).
Tom was a huge fan of sports, and it was a big part of his life. You could often find him either watching or playing most sports that includes a ball, such as softball, tennis, volleyball, basketball, golf, etc. His hobbies included fly fishing and skiing.
Tom won the race to heaven preceding Rebecca, his devoted wife of 48 years; his 3 children: Jacob (and his wife, Eva), Kathryn, and Kimberly; grandchildren: Noah, Peter, Brynnley, and Charlie; and his 3 older siblings: Carolyn, Chester, Dennis, and their families. After spending his entire life trying to catch up to his older siblings, Tom finally passed them in the most important race of life to see Jesus.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service at Rocky Mountain Chapel (Cripple Creek, CO) on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at 10am. It will be an informal celebration of the life and impact of Tom Daniel.
