Steven Dennis Crochet Obituary

Steven Dennis Crochet, 58, also known as "The Croch" passed away on January 14th, 2025 at his mother's home in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Steve was born on August 2, 1966, in Landstuhl, Germany to Don and Earline Crochet who were stationed in Germany and Steve was the second child of three.

Steve grew up in a military family and lived in Washington state, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, Hawaii, and lived most of his life in Colorado Springs. He attended Widefield High School and received a degree in graphic designing from UCCS. Steve was very well-liked, had a magnetic, kind personality, and had many passions. His passions included his beloved German shepherd dog, Bacchus.  Steve enjoyed playing poker, playing billiards, going to many heavy metal concerts and joining in the mosh pits, He was very artistic and extremely creative and a jack of all trades.  He could build, repair, and renovate anything.  He was an exceptional woodworker which he learned from his dad and was also very inventive with his multiple skills. Steve spent 30 years working in the restaurant industry and thoroughly enjoyed meeting new people and giving his top-notch hospitality to everyone.

Steve was highly patriotic.  He had a strong love of his country, the American flag,  our constitution and yes, even our current president.  So much so,  he had a patriotic tattoo sleeve.

Steve and his wife, Claire, met at a poker game and it was love at first sight. Steve and Claire were such big fans of Halloween that they had a black and red masquerade wedding on Halloween. They enjoyed concerts, poker, movies, and traveling which included a very memorable trip to Ireland. They moved to Montana three years ago to live the off-grid lifestyle where he thrived building creative items for the homestead.

Steve is survived by his wife, Claire, of 10 years.  He had two daughters from a previous marriage, Olivia Lovato (Adrian), and Gabrielle Saunders and his three grandchildren by Gabrielle are Madley, Kinsley, and EmberLyn.  His mother, Earline Crochet, his sister, Toni Crochet-Padaway (Glenn), nephews Matthew and Daniel Jeffries, and niece, Rebecca Jeffries.

Steve is preceded in death by his brother, Kenny Crochet and his father, Don Crochet.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, February 2nd at noon at La Bella Vita Restaurant (where Steve was previously employed).
