Stephen Emmett Reed

Stephen “Steve” Emmett Reed age 58, of Woodland Park Colorado, passed away on July 22, 2022.

He was born December 12, 1963 in Hartford Connecticut to Roland Elmwood Reed Jr. and Edith (Green) Reed. He was the youngest of seven children and grew up on both East and West coasts. He was married to Rosalind Rosa on August 3, 1985. They had three children together and four hanai. Stephen graduated from Farrington High School in Honolulu Hawaii. He continued his education in the trades where he eventually became a Master HVAC Technician, Master Plumbing Technician, Journeyman Electrician, and LAUSD Certified Trade School Instructor. He worked a majority of his career with the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety as a Building Inspector. While there he rose through the ranks and retired in his career as a Senior Building Inspector specializing in the Special Events Division. He had a love of music that he shared with everyone, especially his church family and friends. He enjoyed going to the beach, backpacking, sports, playing his guitar, spending time with his grandchildren, and fellowshipping with other people. He was a proud member of the Eagles Nation and a Red Sox fanatic through and through. He taught his children the importance of loyalty and endurance through all the ups and downs of supporting these teams. He was always there to help anyone in need whether it be a simple prayer, a joke or a laugh as a pick me up, or a practical way to use his trade skills.

He is survived by his wife of ten years Rosalind (Rosa) Harris and his children Jacquelyn Manley (Bryan Manley); Johnathan Reed; Joshua Reed (Sarah Hennebury); Betty-Ann Kuamo’o (Matthew Buendicho); Michael Deyman (Tasha Carmen); Thomas Harris; and Clayton Harris. He will be greatly missed especially by his seven grandchildren Emmett, Edith, Maisyn, Max, Salem, Leina’ala, and Miles. He is also survived by his siblings Judith DiRenzo (Denny DiRenzo); Roland Reed III; Dana DiBono (Richard DiBono); and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; his sisters Leslie, Elise, and Lynn; his sister-in-law Lisa; and his grandson Zachary.

His viewing will be held on Monday August 1, 2022 at 12 pm at Mountain Memorial Funeral Home located at 51 County Road 5 Divide, CO 80814.
