Obituary
Sidney Albert Ward lll, Sid, passed away at the age of 64, while at a hospital in Denver, on Sunday February 19, 2023. He died from congestive heart failure and A Fib. He has lived in Highland Lakes in Divide, Colorado for the past 11 years.
He was born in New Haven, Ct in 1959. His Parents were Sidney A Ward Jr and Florence Ward He grew up with a younger sister Sally Ann Ward and married Paula Smith on June 6 in Fairfield Ct. Sid graduated from Amity High School in Bethany Ct. He received the presidential nomination to the Air Force Academy. He continued on to get his Master's Degree from the University of Southern California. He was a Second Lieutenant when he left the Academy. Sid left the service as a Captain to work privately as an aerospace engineer. He enjoyed hiking and biking in the Divide area and skiing in Breckenridge.
Sid is survived by his wife, Paula Ward in Highland Lakes in Divide, CO; his daughters Kimberly (Clark) Braniff and Danielle Ward; his three grandchildren, Teegan Braniff, Lincoln Braniff, and Noah Ward-Ross.
There will be a service held at the Air Force Academy in late May where his ashes will reside.
In lieu of flowers he would like donations to go to Wounded Warrior Project or Tunnel to Towers Foundation in his honor.
