Sarah Kocher Obituary

Sarah Marie Kocher, age 45, passed away at her home in Como, Colorado on April 23, 2024.  Sarah was born on August 30, 1978 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona and raised there until she graduated from high school in 1996. Sarah, affectionately known to her family and close friends as “Banana-peel”, left Lake Havasu in 1997 to join the United States Air Force where she strived, achieved, and made everyone who knew her proud.  Sarah served as a communications and graphics specialist.  Her most memorable assignment was serving under President George W. Bush as a White House Communications Specialist.  She moved around many times for the military and finally settled with her family in Colorado, leaving the Air Force in 2004.

Sarah was a ray of sunshine who always had a smile and a kind word for everyone in the room.  Sarah loved music, especially the Doors, the Grateful Dead, and Gwen Stefani.  Sarah was also an incredible cook and had the biggest heart, always stepping up and stepping in when anyone asked for help.

Sarah is survived by her beautiful family who loved her dearly including her husband, Brian Kocher, and her children, Kaylee Hatfield, Kaiden Soliz, Lola Soliz, and Emma Kocher. She is also survived by her mother, Karen Meixner, and her siblings, Shawn Whitehead, Andrea Helart, and Ryan Johnson and their families.

Services will be held on May 4th, 2024 at 11:30am at the St. Michael’s Methodist Church in Lake Havasu City with burial services following at 1pm at the Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens.  A private “Celebration of Life” for family and friends will follow and a separate “Celebration of Life” will also be held in Como, Colorado on a date to be determined.

Flowers and cards will be graciously accepted at St. Michael’s Methodist Church. In lieu of gifts, we will be accepting donations in Sarah’s name to local charities that are close to Sarah’s heart. Please contact Andrea Helart @ ahelart4@gmail.com for more information if you would like to make a donation in Sarah’s name.
