Ronald Allen Zaccagnini Obituary
Ronald Allen Zaccagnini, 74, of Lake George, Colorado, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 11, 2026. He was surrounded by his daughters, son-in-law, and grandchildren.
Ron was born on November 20, 1951, in Bellevue, Nebraska. He was the son of Richard and Elizabeth Zaccagnini and a brother to Cheryl (Pat) Taylor, David Zaccagnini, and Gary Zaccagnini.
Ron proudly served as a decorated Colorado Division Wildlife Manager for 38 years and retired on August 20, 2013. He was known as a phenomenal sharpshooter and a man of great honor among his colleagues.
Ron had three daughters: Shannan (Joe) Roskam, Lynette (Brad) Place, and Jessica (Jeff) Birmingham; grandchildren Dominic, Braden, Giana, Logan, Dylan, Jaiden, Jace, and Jocelyn; and bonus granddaughter Vanessa.
Ron was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Diana Lou Zaccagnini. Ron and Diana met at Mt. Carmel High School in Denver, Colorado. They were married on June 10, 1972, and raised three girls, who later gave them nine grandchildren. Ron loved his family fiercely and always wanted to make sure they were taken care of.
To put into words the fullness of who Ron was would take a lifetime. To many, he was their pastor and mentor; to some, a loyal friend, always there to help them in any way he could. To his siblings, he was always a loyal confidant and an ear to listen when life got tough. To his wife, he was her rock, her best friend, and the love of her life. To his daughters, he was a constant source of support, sacrifice, and strength. He was their protector and teacher of life's lessons along the way.
On the days he was not preparing a teaching for Sunday's service, you would find Ron on the back of a horse or training one in the round pen. He loved to ride, loved to teach, and loved to do all things outdoors. There was nothing he could not fix, build, or figure out.
Ron was a man of unwavering faith, steadfast character, and deep love for his family. He spent his life serving others, proclaiming the Gospel, leading with humility, and building a legacy that reaches far beyond the walls of any church. His hands built much, but his greatest work was investing in people and pointing them to Christ.
He loved his family greatly, served his community faithfully, and finished his race with courage and dignity. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing that his faith has become sight and that he now hears the words he longed for all his life:
"Well done, good and faithful servant."
Until we meet again, we thank God for the gift of Ron's life and the countless ways he blessed each of us.
"For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain." — Philippians 1:21
