Ronald Lee Shay passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 8, 2025, in Colorado Springs, CO at the age of 57. Ron was surrounded by his family and loved ones. He was born on January 22, 1968, in Independence, Missouri to Homer and Donna Shay. Ron was the youngest of 3 sisters, Kim, Laura, Lisa. He is also blessed to have a brother Homer and sisters Melissa and Tanya.
Some of his childhood memories that stood out to him was his family farm, riding horses, and how he had so much fun at The Worlds of Fun that his family owned. He attended Woodland Park High School and has a degree in Business Management. Ron was the proud Business Owner of a Tax Service and Professional Cleaning/Landscaping service. He was a hard worker and always provided for his family. He really was a jack of all trades. He was able to do anything, he always said God would show him how if he did not know how to do something and that was so true, this happened time and time again. He took pride in his work, no matter what he was doing, he always said we work for the Lord and all the Glory to God. He loved to help others, that was so important to him.
Ron and Michelle meet in 1987 and married on June 26, 1994, in Campbell, California at Campbell Seventh-Day Adventist Church. It was a small, beautiful ceremony that our family so graciously hosted with loved ones. Ron and Michelle have 4 beautiful children, Rachel, Kayla, Matthew, and Keri and 3 amazing grandchildren Cylus, Ryalynn, and Carlos. Ron loved his wife and children dearly and was always there for them. It was important to Ron to be there for his children in all situations and his children are grateful and thankful that their father was always there for them when they needed him.
Ron loved to go fishing, camping, boating, playing horseshoes, playing games, spending time with family. Ron loved the Lord, his family, and friends. It was important to him to teach his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews about the Lord, as well as life. Ron took time out to spend time with all of them, he has a special connection with each one of them, a bond that they share together that has made a special impact in their lives.
