Ronald J. Frindt, long time resident of Teller County, passed away at Forest Ridge Senior Care, on Thursday, May 1, 2025, following a long bout with metastatic melanoma.
Ron was born in San Diego, California, on April 22, 1943, the second of three sons born to Raymond J. and Alberta (LeCuyer) Frindt.
Ron graduated from San Diego State (now San Diego State University) in 1965 and joined the United States Air Force in 1967, serving proudly at bases in Florida, Michigan, Thailand, and Massachusetts where he met his future wife, Susan Spiller. They were married in Ashburnham, Massachusetts, on August 12, 1972.
Following his discharge from the Air Force, Ron attended the University of Denver College of Law from 1971-1974, and practiced Corporate Law in Colorado Springs, until his retirement in 2010. Ron and Sue moved to Woodland Park in 1981, following the birth of their second son.
Ron served his community through Teller County Search and Rescue, Help the Needy, Westwood Lakes HOA, Teller County Honorary Sheriff’s Deputy Association, serving on the formation committee for the Pikes Peak Regional Hospital and the Friends of the Library for the Pikes Peak Regional Library. In his free time he enjoyed camping with the Colorado Springs Trailblazers camping group, reading histories of all the places he visited, and spending time with his sons.
Survived by his wife of 52 years, Susan Spiller Frindt, and sons Bryson (Kereigh Varhall) Frindt, Austin (Jessica) Frindt, grandsons Parker and Riley Ross, all of Colorado Springs, and brothers, Richard and James Frindt from Rancho Mirage, California. Ron was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Alberta Frindt, and niece Christy Frindt Helms.
