Rodney L. Goss (Rod), age 75, passed away on May 25th, 2026, in Pueblo, Colorado.

He has been a resident of Colorado since 1990 after moving there from Kansas.

Rod was born January 25th, 1951, in McPherson, Kansas to Bill and Virgina Goss. He went to McPherson High School and then Hutchinson Community College.  He enlisted in the Army National Guard and served for 9 years as a cook and a sharpshooter.

He moved from McPherson to Lindsborg, Kansas with his two sons in 1980, and made it their home. He managed the Standard filling station downtown for many years and made a town full of friends. He went on to start his own auto glass shop and trucking company after closing the gas station, which then became the Hemslojd. One of his favorite pastimes was meeting up with friends for a beer and sandwich at the Ol Stuga. He was always willing to pitch in and help whenever and wherever it was needed.

Rod moved to Colorado in 1991 to help his brother Richard run a heavy equipment company. He later started his own trucking company which he ran for the past 20 years.

Papa Goss, as he was affectionately called in his later years, loved spending time with his grandchildren and was extremely proud of them and their accomplishments.

He is survived by his two sons and their spouses:  Denny Goss and Jeremiah Whitehead of Denver, CO; Andy and Tonya Goss of Woodland Park, CO, His grandchildren:  Alec Goss, Ava Goss, Gavin Goss and Seth Goss, His brothers:  Randy Goss and David Goss.

He is preceded in death by his brother Richard Goss, and both of his parents Bill and Virginia Goss.

Services will be held graveside on July 25, 2026, in McPherson cemetery at 9:30am. 

A celebration of life will be held at Swensson Park, Lindsborg Kansas from 12:00-3:00pm also on July 25, 2026, for anyone to stop by and share food, drink and stories of Rod with family and friends.
