“They are not dead who live in the hearts they leave behind” ~ Native American Proverb
Roderick Lee Sutton was one who touch many people’s hearts throughout his life. While it may not have always been obvious, one of the most important things to him in this life was his family. Especially his two sons Zachary and Jerimiah and their families. He enjoyed spending time with loved ones up on the family property in Grand Lake, CO, learning about family history with his mother Helen, embracing the Native American parts of his lineage, and happily telling others about his family. Rod, Little Bear, was also an incredible artist and was an integral part of the art community in Cripple Creek.
Rod passed away on February 18th, 2022 at the age of 72. Whether we knew him as a father, brother, husband, cousin, uncle, friend or artist, we will carry him with us in our hearts.
The family will hold a private celebration of life, but a tribute will be held for him at an upcoming art show held by the Cripple Creek Art Alliance. All who knew him can also celebrate his life by treasuring the time you have with loved one and embracing and honoring those who came before us.
