Richard Wayne Powers

Richard Wayne Powers, 79, went home to be with Jesus on October 8, 2022.  He peacefully passed from this world surrounded by family, in his Florissant, Colorado home.  Richard was born December 20, 1942, in Florence, South Carolina. Richard was the youngest of four children from the union of his mother Betty Elizabeth Brookes Powers and his father Charles Thomas Powers. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and all his siblings.

Richard is survived by his wife of 61 years Lenora Lovette Powers of Florissant, Colorado, his daughter Nancy Marie (Powers) Karst, married to Edward Karst, Aurora, Colorado, Richard William Powers (Bill) married to Kristy Lynn Powers of Garden City, Kansas and Michelle Denise Powers Medina, married to Frank Medina of Broomfield, Colorado. Richard had 14 beautiful grandchildren and 17 beautiful great-grandchildren.

Since retiring from a long career working for Lundquist Associates, Richard enjoyed fish and constructing handmade wooden picture frames.  

A celebration of life ceremony will be held Saturday October 15, 2022, at the Cripple Creek Recreation Center, 128 E. Bennet Drive, Cripple Creek, Colorado at 1 PM. Officiating the Celebration of Life ceremony will be Pastor Manny Dunlap of the Mountain Life Church. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Mountain Life Church, Cripple Creek, Colorado.
