Rick James was born in Denver, Colorado on Feb. 8, 1950. He passed away on April 8, 2020 in his home in Victor, Colorado, playing pool. He didn't die from the virus, but respiratory failure. He was 70 years old.
As a kid he used to spend summers with his grandmother in Victor, Colorado. He would scraping bricks for one penny a piece. He lived in Byers, Frisco and Aurora in his motor home and traveled to several midwestern states to live and work. While in Byers, he raised a litter of greyhounds to race, but they didn't do so well.
Rick has always worked construction and never missed a day of work. Glenwood Canyon and the Palladium in Cripple Creek stand out as two of his biggest jobs.
He returned to Victor 25 years ago. Rick loved the Broncos, fishing and was a truly accomplished bowler at one time. He liked video poker and bingo, riding his Harley and playing in pool tournaments around Colorado.
He lived with his two kitty cats that he loved so much. And loved visiting with friends and family.
Rick always wanted (and got) a pool table and a hot tub in his living room.
His saying was, "Eat a peach."
