Philip Keith Wolverton (Uncle Phil) 65, was welcomed home into the arms of the Lord on November 11, 2024 after a brief fight with pneumonia at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Philip was born on August 13, 1959 the youngest of 18 children to Frank and Anna Wolverton in Pueblo, Colorado. He was a lifelong resident of Pueblo, with some fascinating stories of his years spent in Phoenix, AZ as a child and some equally entertaining stories of his time spent in Germany with the US Army.
Philip attended Centennial High School in Pueblo. He joined the United States Armed Forces in 1978. Philip worked as a waste water technician with Cut Rate Sewer and Drain and was a known “shade tree mechanic.”
Philip enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids. Riding motorcycles, go-karts, bowling, melodramas, watching movies, and gambling were among some of his favorite activities.
Philip enjoyed the company of many friends and acquaintances and kept in touch with family. He almost always had a joke to share and many would say he’d give you the shirt off his back.
Philip leaves behind 2 daughters, 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchild and many siblings, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Services will be held on November 30, 2024 11:30am at The Tabernacle Baptist Church, 2002 E 8th St Pueblo, CO 81001, with reception to immediately follow.
In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to The Tabernacle Baptist Church or your local soup kitchen.
Special thanks to Pastor Bob Woody and the staff at The Veterans Assistance Program in Pueblo.
