Peggy D. Harris

Our beloved mother, Peggy Dobbins Harris, died peacefully on April 16, 2022.   Peggy was born on May 18, 1925 in Dallas, Texas to Vera Treat Dobbins and Richard Dwain Dobbins.  While working in the secretarial pool at Goodfellow Air Force Base, she met the love of her life in young Lieutenant Charles Harris.  They married January 4, 1945 and shared 50 years together.  They traveled extensively and were stationed throughout the USA, Caribbean, and Asia.  Peggy and Charles raised three children:  Beverly Jimmerson (Jim), Charles Richard Harris (‘Chuck’, deceased 2000), and Judy Danley (Paul).  They have 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.   

Mom was creative, resilient and independent.  She had a ready wit, great sense of humor, and beautiful laugh that lifted everyone’s spirits.    Even near the end, she would tease with her caretakers while also showing immense gratitude to them for her care.  The family would especially like to thank the loving staff at Sunrise at University and Garden Ranch Assisted Living.  We will be forever grateful for how you came alongside us to care for and enrich mom’s life.

A memorial service is planned for May 4th at 10am at Woodman Valley Chapel in the Stone Chapel. Memorial donations can be sent to Family Life Services 1880 S Cascade Ave, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80905
