Patricia (Pat) Leute of Cascade Colorado passed away at 79 surrounded by family on January 27th, 2024.
Pat was born in Fort Wayne Indiana February 26th, 1944. She grew up in Adrian Michigan with her parents Harold and Ruth Miller and her beloved brother Doug.
On June 2nd, 1962, she married the love of her life, Tex Leute. Tex and Pat started their life together in Adrian but soon moved to San Bernadino Valley California for a short time. They then returned to Adrian Michigan where their first son Adam was born. Their next adventure brought them to Colorado in 1968. They started in Green Mountain Falls and eventually landed in Cascade Colorado. In 1969 their second son Brent was born. Their family loved the outdoors and spent most weekends exploring the mountains of Colorado.
Pat was a devoted wife and loving mother with the kindest of hearts; nothing was more important to her than her family and she extended that love willingly and graciously to her daughters-in-law Karen and Terri when they joined the family in 1993. As the family continued to grow Pat and Tex continued the tradition of family adventures. There were many trips with the entire family to Moab Utah to ride motorcycles and ATV’s, Guernsey reservoir in Wyoming to go boating and waterskiing, and many other mountain camping adventures.
Pat adored her grandchildren, Zach, Garrett, Luke, and Molly and they adored her back. She showered them with love, hugs, phone calls, teddy grahams, goldfish, kit kat’s and mentos! She was always available for long talks and listened without judgement.
Her other love, and her constant companion after her husband Tex passed away was Max, her faithful black lab.
Pat was an active parishioner at Our Lady of the Woods Catholic Church in Woodland Park Colorado. She enjoyed reading at daily Mass, participating in Bible Studies, and chatting with great friends. She was very devoted to the rosary and the 15 prayers of St. Bridget.
Pat is preceded in death by her husband Tex Leute and survived by her two sons Adam Leute and his wife Karen with their two sons Zach and Garrett, and Brent Leute and his wife Terri with their children Luke and Molly. She was also very excited to meet her great granddaughter Layne, the daughter of Zach and Emma.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Monsignor Richard Gilles at Our Lady of the Woods Catholic Church in Woodland Park Colorado on February 22nd at 2:00pm, followed by a private burial. The reception will follow at 4:30pm at the parish hall.
Pat may be honored at the Divide Colorado cemetery.
