Marck Cornelius Obituary

Marck Cornelius ( His Baptismal Name Cornel Aleteanu ), a 20 years resident of Woodland Park, went to be with His Lord on December 29th 2019 , at the age of 70, following a 22 years battle with Congestive Heart Failure.

He was born in Bucharest, Romania in 1949 to Joseph and Virginia Aleteanu. He had 3 siblings, Eugen Aleteanu of Wichita Kansas( wife Donna Aleteanu), Denissa  Aleteanu of California, and Dorin  Aleteanu of North Carolina.

Marck fought for Human Rights and religious rights and he was Imprisoned in Arad Romania for trying to escape the Communist regime. Marck arrived in USA in 1979 with his family and loved this Country like no other, He was a Retired Private Investigator and graduated College in1993 in California The College of Private Investigators.

Marck had a passion for cars and he started a Miniature Car Collection many years ago, but he also loved to travel. Almost 35 years ago he wrote me a letter saying that :"One of this days I will build a Gingerbread House for you in Colorado".  And in 1999 as we were driving on our street I saw the Gingerbread House he promised me long time ago. He loved Colorado so much, the loved the mountains, the nature and people that we made friends for over 20 years. Marck loved to take pictures and Videos and he  loved to travel by train and by ship,and together we traveled to over 20 Countries, including but not limited to : Canada ,Mexico, Belize, Peru, Italy , France, England, Croatia, Former Republic of Yugoslavia, Netherlands,Cayman islands, Jamaica, St.Thomas and the Caribean  to name a few.

Whenever possible he loved to be with friends and family .He is survived by his beloved wife Jenica Cornelius, his best friend for life ,and partner in his fight with CHF and travel companion, two children: Christopher Aleteanu and Ronald Aleteanu; four Grandchildren: Lianni and Savian, Nadia and Nalani, and his nephew Justin Aleteanu and niece Jennifer Sutton, and last but not least  his Beloved dog Keffer ( Marck found this old Gaelic name which means "Gentle Soul"). He rescued Keffer 1 and 1/2 years ago. He is preceded in Death by his Parents Joseph and Virginia Aleteanu.

A Memorial Service will take place at Holy Theophany Orthodox Church in Colorado Springs , on January 11th at 11:00 AM. Address is 2770 N Chestnut , Colorado Springs, 80907. A Memorial lunch will follow. Father Anthony K will officiate the Memorial Service.

In lieu of flowers you can make donations to Holy Theophany Church or a Church of your choice. Marck was one of the many founders of First Romanian Orthodox Church in Colorado, Saint John the Hozevite together with Father Cristian Lutas who remained his Priest all of his life.

On his bucket list he wanted so much to visit Japan and their TGV Trains, wanted to take the train from Russia ( The Orient Express) all the way to China, and we wanted to visit all 50 US States , and we actually visited almost 20 states together.

With Many Thanks To Dr Vijay Nampalli of Aurora Denver Cardiology, Dr Tunde Ghincea of Skyline Internal Medicine and Dr Andras Bodoni, ICU chief at Presbyterian St Luke in Denver and all wonderful doctors , nurses and professionals that helped us in this 22 years battle with CHF.With the highest gratitude to Father Cristian Lutas and his family, Cornelia and Ilie Timis of Thornton, Pastor Keith and Sherry Miller of Woodland Park, Joe and Amy Brown,Radu and Daniela Oltean Dumitru of Colorado Springs, and TJ and JoAnn Sanchez of New Mexico that prayed with us and helped us thru the last years. Also with many friends to Marta Capota  and Dragos and Tatiana Matache of Coloradfo Springs.With deepest thanks to Jennifer Earheart and all my colleagues at State of Colorado Health Dept for working with me and allowing me to be with my Husband thru this trials and tribulations. With deepest Thanks to Melinda Washam from the Galactic Research in Denver Colorado, where Marck was on a World trial medication ( first medication in the world that would not filter thru the kidneys.
