Lorraine “Mo” Frances (Pickel) Pluemer, 82 of Woodland Park, CO passed away Wednesday, January 21st, 2026, peacefully at Forest Ridge Senior Living in Woodland
Park, CO. Lorraine was born on September 23rd, 1943, in Kieler, WI to Christopher and Mary (Dalsing) Pickel.
She married the love of her life Bruce James Pluemer August 22nd,1964 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kieler, WI. In 1982, Bruce and Lorraine moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado and in 1992 moved to Woodland Park, CO to build their forever mountain home. Lorraine worked as an administrative assistant for 18 years at Colorado College before her retirement. Lorraine was very active in her local community and volunteered at VITA (Volunteer Income tax Assistance), Help the Needy, various ministries at Our Lady of the Woods Catholic Church and was a member of Catholic Daughters of The Americas.
Lorraine loved the outdoors—camping, fishing, and hiking—and cherished time spent reading, crafting, and being with her husband, family, and friends. She made everyone feel welcome with her warm smile and twinkling blue eyes, always enjoying good conversation (often over a beer or cup of coffee).
Survivors include husband Bruce Pluemer, Woodland Park, CO, son, Craig (Gerri Lynn) Pluemer, Castle Rock, CO, Gina (Andrew) Johannesman, Roxborough, CO,
granddaughters, Brooke Pluemer, Taylorsville, UT, Hannah Johannesman, Denver, CO, Abigail Johannesman, Chicago, IL and Christina Pluemer, Draper, UT. Sisters Leila Stierman, Dickeyville, WI and Doris Ihm, Kieler, WI. Sisters-in-law Jule Canby, Mesa, AZ, Jean (Bob) Paulsen, Colorado Springs, CO, Susan (Lisa) Pluemer, Colorado Springs, CO and brother-in-law Timothy (Maria)Pluemer, Woodland Park, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents, Christopher and Mary (Dalsing) Pickel, siblings and in-laws, Eldon (Agnes) Pickel, Lyle (Judy) Pickel, Velma (Paul) Moor, Roman Bonifas, Bert Stierman, Bill Ihm, and Al Canby.
A Funeral mass will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, May 8th, 2026 at Our Lady of the Woods Catholic Church in Woodland Park, CO.
