Obituary

We are heartbroken to announce that Kevin Adair Albert, age 71, of Woodland Park, Colorado, passed away with his family by his side on April 29th, 2023.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, M. Lynn Albert; daughters Katie Wright (William) of Woodland Park; and Andrea Wyatt (Greg) of Colorado Springs; grandchildren Clay and Cole McNally, Taylor and Mitchell Wright, Landon, Avery, and Asher Wyatt.  Mother- in -law Janet Miller, numerous in- laws, nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his daughter Cyndi McNally and his brother Patrick Albert.

Kevin was born February 11, 1952 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was a graduate of St. Mary’s High school, class of 1970. He attended Colorado College. Kevin was retired from CDOT as a project engineer, after which he continued to work for Rocksol Engineering. Kevin’s incredible colleagues made his career a true enjoyment.

Kevin was a second generation Colorado native and resided there for his entire life.  He treasured time with family, especially during the holidays.  Kevin took great pride in all his grandchildren, ensuring he followed all of their activities and accomplishments.  Kevin’s friends and family loved his sharp wit and humor.  He was such a pleasure to talk with, you knew you would always have a good laugh.   He cherished his time volunteering for the Woodland Park Fire Department for nearly a decade; he recalled it as one of the best times in his life.  One of Kevin’s many passions was practicing and preparing for his shooting competitions, where he received medals for his expert marksmanship.

Kevin had an enormous zeal for WW2.  This led to an interest in building and painting period models, watching documentaries on the subject, and reading numerous books about the war years.

He was the greatest husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to all who had the delight of being a part of his life.  He was a man to be admired and will be held in all of our hearts forever.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Kevin and will be held at 11 AM on Friday May 12, 2023 at Our Lady of the Woods Catholic Church in Woodland Park,  CO.   A prayer vigil and rosary for Kevin will be held preceding Mass at 10:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pikes Peak Hospice and Palliative Care 2250 Tenderfoot Hill St. Colo Spgs. CO 80906 https://pikespeakhospice.org/donate-today/
