Kathleen Moan Obituary

Kathy Moan passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 16, 2020 in her home in Woodland Park, CO at the age of 67. She was born in Virginia on November 21, 1952 to John (Jack) and Myra Irene Gannon.

While born in Virginia, Kathy grew up in Brooklyn and then Long Island, NY where she graduated from Holy Family HS and subsequently Dowling college with a degree in Psychology. She met her husband, Eugene James Moan Jr., at Gaslight Palace where he worked at the time, and transferred to the same college as him. They were married in April of 1975, on Long Island. Kathy enjoyed her time traveling and living overseas throughout the years. She retired as CEO from Joint Initiatives of Youth and Families in 2017.

Kathy will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 45 years, Gene Moan; children: Christina Moan (Theo) and Jason Moan (Ashley); beloved grandchildren: Alexis, Tessa, Sofia, and Juliette, and; sibling: Irene Petrucelli (Carl); as well as numerous family members, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was also expecting another granddaughter in January. Kathy is proceeded in death by her parents, Jack and Irene Gannon, and nephew, Ryan DeVita.

Kathy was an adoring wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was a direct and articulate woman who always let you know what she thought. Everyone will know and remember how much she loved them.

Kathy was cremated, per her final wishes. No service is planned, but a Celebration of Life party will be scheduled at a future date.
