Kathleen Marie Carter-Miller

Kathleen Marie Carter-Miller, 36, passed away on November 13, 2022, in her home. Katie was born on August 2nd, 1986, in Woonsocket, RI. Katie’s family moved to Colorado when she was 4 years old and called Colorado home from that moment forward. Katie and her family lived on Pikes Peak at Barr Camp from 1993 to 1999; the mountain was affectionately called “My Mountain” by Katie for the rest of her life. Katie graduated from Woodland Park High School in 2004 and started her career in 2007 as a beautician in the community she loved so much. She spent most of her career at Reflections Hair Salon with her Colorado mom Beth. Katie met and fell in love with Steven in 2013. They were married in Las Vegas, NV on September 14, 2018.

Katie fiercely loved her family and friends and would do anything for those she loved. She was endlessly creative with different ways to show her love to others through food, crafts, and gifts that she would give. Katie took on every obstacle life gave her with an admirable amount of courage and humor. Though no joke was ever properly told by Katie every joke brought joy and laughter to us all. Katie loved spending time in her beloved Colorado mountains, reading, crafting, cooking, spending quality time with family and friends, and cuddling with her puppies. Katie holds a special place with so many people and her loss is deeply felt.

Katie was proud of the career and life she had built in Woodland Park, but Katie’s deepest pride and joy was her son, Christopher. Katie would go to the ends of the earth to take care of those she loved and did so much to let those she loved to know just how special they were.

Katie is survived by her husband, Steven Miller. Her children Christopher, Trinity (child/niece), and Raven. Her mother Lisa. Her mother-in-law Darlyn and father-in-law Douglas. Her sisters Ashley and Heather and her husband Kyle, brother Tommy, and brother and sister-in-law Christopher and Gabby, her nieces, Isabella, Alexandra, and Aedyn, and her nephews Kyle Jr and Nicholas.

Katie is preceded in death by her fathers Russ Carpentier and Tommy Carter.

A celebration of life will be held on November 29 at 10 am with service starting at 11 am at Mountain Memorial Funeral Home, 51 County Road 5 in Divide Colorado. It will also be followed by, per Katie’s request a Potluck at Impact Christian Church in Woodland Park Colorado, feel free to bring a dish.
