Karen Jan Schleuter

Karen Jan Schleuter was born on April 19^th, 1960 alongside her twin sister Beth at Barnes Hospital in Saint Louis Missouri. At 18 months old Karen and her sister Beth were adopted by Frank and Dorothy Schleuter, the adoption was finalized when Karen was five years old. Karen graduated from North Side High School in Fort Smith Arkansas in 1978. Karen then went on to get a bachelor’s degree in Theater at the University of Arkansas. In 1987 Karen had her first and only child Meghan. Karen has spent the last ten years decorating cakes as an occupation, in which she has shown enormous talent and passion. Anyone who has met Karen, is aware of her love for animals. Karen has had pets her entire life and her favorite pass time is going to the zoo. Karen worked with dogs, which included grooming, working at kennels, and pet sitting, on and off much of her life.

The relationships in Karen’s life have been built by Karen being drawn to people who felt lost and looking to help them anyway she could. Karen passed away in her home in Woodland Park Colorado at the end of August 2019. Karen is survived by her Daughter Meghan Webster, her Son in Law David Webster, her Grandson Kenneth Webster, her Husband Steven Hathaway, her sisters Beth Schleuter, Kathy Brauch, Vicky Suda, and the many friends Karen made throughout her life.
