Jose Alejandro Lovato also known as “Joe” or “Alex” peacefully passed away on November 20, 2024 at the age of 83 in his home in Woodland Park.
Jose was born on August 2, 1941 to Jose and Rafelita Lovato in Chamisal, New Mexico. He was the oldest of 15 children. Jose served in the Air Force and was stationed in Colorado Springs where he met and married Gloria Mascarenas with whom he had four children. He was a dedicated hard worker devoted to Chrissy Fowler Lumber Company for 35 years as a manager of the Truss Department. His favorite hobby is working with wood to create various projects such as furniture, birdhouses etc.
After the death of his first wife, he married Mary Nelson. Together they built a home at Eleven Mile Reservoir prior to his retirement where they both enjoyed fishing, boating, hiking and spending time with their neighbors. They took pleasure in living among the wildlife.
He is survived by his wife Mary, children Grace Ann Mendoza (Jose Louis), Lionel Lovato and Joseph Lovato. His grandchildren Monica Vallejos, Donna Gonzales, Anthony Muniz, Vanessa Medina, Desiree Lovato, Lionel Jr. Lovato, Leonard Lovato and many great and great-great grandchildren. Survived and loved by his many siblings.
He is proceeded in death by his first wife, parents, son Paul “Wedo” Garcia and other siblings.
“Being a gentle man that lived a simple life, it is my wish not to have a funeral. If you find yourself reflecting about me, take a walk, feel the breeze and think of me”.
Memorial celebration for friends and family will be determined at a later date.
