Jonathan Clinton Obituary

Jonathan Ezra Clinton “Jon – Jonny – Jon Boy” is 42 years young from Florissant, Colorado. He began his journey to the other side on the evening of September 25th, 2021 in a roll-over accident while leaving his family firewood processing mill near Hartsel, Colorado. He was driving his beloved 1959 Ford F600 that both he and his son (Giovanni) rebuilt together.

Jon was born to Barbara “Morris” Clinton / Spaulding and Donald Clinton on May 16th, 1979 in Saint Joseph, Missouri. Jon grew up both on a farm in Southwestern Nebraska and the Black Hills of South Dakota. He has a brother (Seth Clinton) and three sisters (Joy Clinton, Sherri Rohde and Jennie Gamble) whom he was always protective of.

Jon had met his partner in life and strongest teammate (Marsha Clinton) in 1996. They were married in New Castle, Wyoming on December 13th, 2002. They were one unit, “Jon and Marsha,” for 25 solid years with countless adventures together. They always had each other to depend on and enjoyed challenging each other to be better.

Even as a child, he was always the “happy-go-lucky” class clown that loved to make people laugh. Jon excelled in math. He loved to be challenged by a good problem. He also proved to be a daredevil with a strong work ethic.

Jon was a one-of-a-kind man who achieved his Class A CDL at 17 years young in Montana. He was a master of many trades. However, what he is most known for is that he was a Master Pipefitter, Welder, Fabricator, Logger, Grandfather, Father, and Husband. He was an extremely determined individual that never gave up on anything, especially, if it involved his family. Jon spent approximately 18 months on a project to renovate the Cheesman Dam as the only pipefitter welder on the project. At the completion of that project, Denver Water provided him with a custom medallion made from the brass stem indicating a “Dam Fine Job.”

He had many years of traveling long distances away from home, proudly working hard from job site to job site. He did this to give his children the best life possible, and to invest in his wife’s wild dream of starting a firewood business back home. In the winter of 2015, he was finally able to hang up his hat as a master pipe fitter and come home to join his wife in the family business: Mountain Mama Firewood LLC.

Jon passed away as a skilled logger feeling on top of the world knowing he made it. He reached every goal and conquered his dreams.

Jon is survived by his wife: Marsha Clinton and their 5 children: Harmonie and Austin Joslin-Koch (24 & 26), Dacie Reeves (22), Jonathan Clinton Jr. (20), Giovanni Clinton (17) and Abigail Clinton (12). 2 grandchildren: Amelia Joyce Odom (3) and Maximus Augustus Joslin-Koch (3 mos.) His Father: Donald Clinton, Mother: Barbara Morris, Brother: Seth Clinton, and Sisters: Joy Clinton, Sherri Rohde, Jennie Gamble. And last, but not least, his co-pilot Buster Brown the family dog.

Services will be held on Saturday, October 2nd, 2021, 2:00 pm at Little Chapel of the Hills, Divide, Colorado 80814.  Jon will be laying in state from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm and be able to be viewed prior to Service.
