Johnny Faulkenberry, 64, a seventeen year resident of Divide, Colorado, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 9, 2021.
Mister Johnny, the eldest son of Ernest Faulkenberry, deceased, and Nellie Hart Faulkenberry, was born in Osceola, Arkansas on December 18, 1956. He, like his younger brother, Ronny Faulkenberry of San Benito, Texas, spent his youth as a small-town boy living and learning about life of the Mississippi River levees. He was graduated from Osceola High School in 1975 and went to Mississippi County Community College where he developed an interest in creative writing. That interest lasted Johnny's entire life and can be felt in the small poems and stories he wrote, but never published. Anyone who knew Johnny would have readily found out that his favorite activity was to share his testimony and his faith.
Johnny's passing leaves behind his best friend and wife of thirty-five years, Cynthia Cindy Arment Faulkenberry of Divide. He is also survived by his mother, Nellie Hart Faulkenberry of San Benito, Texas, step-son, Paul Allen Whitlow of McAlester, Oklahoma, step-daughter, Kristina Lynn Whitlow, and granddaughters Sierra Lynn Whitlow and Faith Elizabeth Rich all of Springdale, Arkansas.
Mr. Faulkenberry is at rest at Mountain Memorial Funeral Home, 51 County Road 5 in Divide, Colorado.
There is to be a viewing at the funeral home Thursday, April 15, 2021, from 4 pm until 7 pm for those who mwish to pay their respects.
