John (Jack) H. Elwell was born November 14, 1935 in Cedar Falls, Iowa and departed this world on January 13, 2023. Jack was a long-time resident of Woodland Park. He moved to Woodland Park with his parents, Harold and Barbara Elwell, along with his brother, Dick after serving three years in the Army at Fort Bliss , TX.
Jack married the love of his life, Beverly Elwell, on September 22, 1961 and they were happily married for nearly 58 years. They built their dream home in Woodland Park in May, 1972, where they raised their family and he lived the remainder of his life. Jack retired from Park State Bank as the Senior Vice President after working there for 25 years. He greatly enjoyed his time at the bank where he worked closely with members of the community.
Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, tennis, music his grandchildren’s sporting events, attending church and traveling with his wife.
Jack is survived by his two sons John Elwell (Carrie) and Jeff Elwell (Margarette), grandchildren Tyler (Jennica), Jordyn, Hunter and Drew, and great grandchild Carter.
Jack will be most remembered for being humble, caring, loyal, soft spoken, his love of family and his strong faith.
Jack’s Memorial Service will be held at the Mountain View United Methodist Church on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 1:00 pm followed by internment at the Woodland Park Cemetery.
