John Paul Darchangelo Jr. passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born on May 29, 1948 in Miami, Florida to John Paul Darchangelo and Wanda Frances Faulkner Darchangelo. He married Songmin Liu on September 19, 2009 in Divide, Colorado.
John served in the U.S. Air Force from 1968 until July 1994 as a Communications-Computer Systems Superintendent. During his US Air Force career John served at numerous U.S. and overseas locations. Subsequent to his military career John performed computer services for the city of Canon City, Colorado. He then served in security roles for the U.S. Government in Middle East Embassies and Consulates. John also volunteered as a Teller County Posse member and a Colorado Mountain Ranger.
John enjoyed being a participant in the "Old West" reenactments for local festivities. He traveled to over 20 countries around the world and learned a few different languages. John was a remarkable individual whose strong will and sweet heart touched the lives of many. His presence will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is survived by his wife, Songmin Liu of Divide, Colorado and his half-brother, Tom Delux of St. Augustine, Florida.
Memorial service is Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at noon (sharp) at the Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Rd, Colorado Springs Colorado.
