Joel Steven Babcock

Joel Steven Babcock, 67, passed away on February 27, 2026, at Memorial Hospital Central in Colorado Springs following a heart attack.

Born in Denver, Colorado, to George and Juliann Babcock, Joel spent most of his life in the Denver area before moving to Divide, Colorado, where he lived for the past four years. He was a proud graduate of Cherry Creek High School, earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Denver, and went on to receive his Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver School of Law. Joel practiced law for 42 years, serving his clients with dedication and integrity.

On September 25, 1993, Joel married the love of his life, Terisa Dine, in Denver, Colorado. Together they built a life centered on mutual respect, kindness, strong family values and friendship. Joel was a devoted husband and father to Lindsey and Steven, and he deeply cherished his family.

He is survived by his wife, Terisa; his children, Lindsey Babcock and Steven Babcock; his mother, Juliann Babcock; his sister, Susan Babcock; his brother, Jeff Babcock, his wife Anne, and their children Sean, Ryan, Kelly, and Casey; as well as his cat, Momo, and his beloved dog, Bailey.

Joel loved camping, cooking, and skiing in the Colorado mountains. He had an amazing sense of humor, a truly kind heart, and a gift for improvising clever repairs when something needed fixing. He treasured his friends and family and brought warmth and laughter wherever he went. His life was one well lived, marked by hard work, love, and generosity of spirit.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Woodland Park, Colorado.
