Jannette (Jan) Cora Clark passed peacefully on Friday, June 18, 2021 in Colorado Springs, CO.
Jan was born June 21, 1932 in Montrose, Colorado to Claude and Kathryn (Hartzell) Hess. Her family moved to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania when she was just an infant. She returned to Colorado in 1949 where she graduated from Cheyenne Mountain High School. She was active in the choir and loved to sew. She met her husband, Robert (Bob) Clark, in the summer of 1951 when she was home from break at Stephens College. She met Bob at the Garden of the Gods gift shop and just four short months later, they were wed. In 1969 they moved their family to Tucson, AZ to pursue new opportunities. In 1970, she and Bob divorced and went their separate ways. In 1981, the mountains were calling and Jan once again returned to Colorado. She lived in Fort Collins and worked at CSU. After her retirement, she moved to Divide in 1995 to be closer to family.
Jan loved to look at the mountains, watch the wildlife (and her neighbors), and sew. She spent time with her grandchildren and loved to travel and camp. She loved ice cream, cheesecake, cats, flowers, and the color yellow. She had a colorful imagination and told wild stories. She had an infectious laugh.
Jannette is survived by her four children; Becky (David) Kean of Divide, CO, Chuck (Sherri) Clark of Colorado Springs, CO, Ron (Rebecca) Clark of Texas, and Sue (Bob) Timmons of Oklahoma. 10 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren, and 5 Great Great Grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 am on July 10th, at Mountain Memorial Funeral Home, 51 CR 5, Divide CO. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity.
