We are saddened to announce the passing of James "Big Jim" Lowell McElveen, born July 30,1935. His soul left us on May 16, 2024.
He was a native of Savannah, Georgia. He is preceded in death by his parents Moses Judson and Sarah Louise Wilson, four sisters and one brother, and his sons, James McElveen Jr and Robert McElveen. He is survived by Aggie McElveen (spouse), two sons and spouses, two daughters, and 9 grand children and multiple nieces and nephews. He is step-father to 4 children - one son, and three daughters and spouses. He has 9 step-grand children, and two step-great grand children Jim spent his life dedicated to work and family.
He is retired Air Force of 23 years. He worked for an Industrial Engineering Consulting company for 23 years. He and Aggie married in 1986 and relocated to Florissant, Colorado in 1998. He served with 4 Mile Fire Protection Services for 23 years.
Jim represented compassion, hard work, dedication and devotion to his family, friends, and fellow man.
Jim was a descendent of one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence, Lymon T. Hall.
