James (Jim) Leonard Kindt, 60, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2024 at home in Florissant, CO. Jim was born on April 16, 1964 to Don and Jan Kindt in Winfield, Kansas. The youngest of three children, Jim joined siblings Keith and Cheri.
Jim’s talent and creativity became evident at an early age as he worked on the lighting crew for school plays in grade school. In high school Jim was known for his inventive pranks in his vehicle modifications of windshield wipers and bumpers and introducing a surprise guest in the school cafeteria that caused quite a stir, especially with the principal.
After graduating from Winfield High School, Jim made his way west and called Colorado home. His jobs in construction, metal plating and finishing, self-storage senior manager and truck rental business, as well as his own woodworking business, benefitted from his multiple talents, endless creativity, and solid leadership. It was no surprise that he was the recipient of multiple awards for his excellence in service from the Penske Corporation.
Jim’s passion was helping others. Over the years, he opened his home and heart to four individuals in need, providing shelter, home-cooked meals and companionship.
