Ernest (Ernie) Nathan Snare of Florissant, CO born October 11, 1931, to Walter Nathan Snare & Thelma Marie Jackson-Snare, and passed June 6, 2023, both at the family ranch/homestead in Florissant, CO.
Ernie attended grade school at the Florissant School house, then graduated from Cripple Creek & Victor school. He later become a machinist for the Boeing Plant in Renton, WA, owner of the Cottage Inn in Cripple Creek, CO, he got his private pilot’s license in his later years, started the family excavation business-Snare Construction Inc., and always involved in the family cattle and ranch business. He passed down his legacy to his son and grandsons. He is survived by his 4 sons, Stevie, Randy (Terri), Kenny (Cindy), & Tom (Shery) Snare, his 11 grandchildren, & 15 great grandchildren. His nieces Kathy Jansen & Tina Lynn Winkler-Johnson & nephews Larry (Debbie) & Bobby Jansen. Proceeded by the mother of his sons, Marion Joyce Cooper-Snare (June 6, 1996, exactly 27 years to the day), Anna Marie Snare- Hendershot (Sister), Jeannie Jansen (Niece), Mavis Winkler (Stepsister), & good friend Kathy Lacey.
Ernie had a passion for antique cars, western memorabilia, flying, learning new things, fabricating & inventing & enjoying his time with his cattle. Ernie enjoyed the lavish things in life. He said his “most favorite place on the family ranch” was wherever he was at. He continued the family involvement as a lifetime member of the Florissant Grange, Member of the Central Colorado Cattlemen’s Association, & the local Car Club.
Memorial Service to be Saturday October 14th @ the Florissant Grange @1PM.
