Edward Josiah Vodipija, age 63, of Florissant, Colorado, passed away in his residence on Sunday, April 17, 2022.
Edward was born March 22, 1959 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Joseph Vodopija and Lucy Tomazak. He grew up in the Catholic community and at the devotional Glenside Brothers of the Charity. He proudly served in the US Army and after transitioning to civilian status, earned a certification as a Master Automotive Technician by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence. He started his own automotive repair business, then known as Dr. Ed’s Auto Repair, and upon moving to Colorado with his family, Ed renamed his flourishing business Anger Management Racing, as he regularly graced the asphalt with his 1970s Barracuda and 23 Model-T roadsters at Pueblo Motor Sports Park.
Edward had a remarkable number of talents and hobbies, aside from being a renowned Teller County mechanic. He enjoyed listening to blues and classic rock, welding, gardening, hiking, fishing, boating, BBQing, riding ATVs and playing video games (often crushing his daughter in a competitive game of Crash Bash). He composed song lyrics and played guitar, bass, piano and drums, often performing in venues around Teller and El Paso County. He loved riding motorcycles and could often be found cruising with friends on his Harley Davidson, even completing a 2,300 mile bike circuit for an ailing friend’s bucket list. Always willing to help others in the community, Ed contributed to multiple charities, was a devoted supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project and organized and co-sponsored a memorial motorcycle poker run.
Edward was a loving husband, father and friend and always kept everyone laughing. He pushed people to strive for their goals and not to worry about what everyone else thought. He seemed to be able to solve any problem, fix any issue, and when people were in need would use his talents and humor to save the day.
Edward is survived by daughter Natalya Vodipija and brother John Smith.
He will be deeply missed by friends and family.
