Debra Ann Drummond 1952 ~ 2025, age 72, passed peacefully at her home on March 14, 2025, due to cancer. She was born August 14, 1952, in Dallas, Texas the daughter of Hope and Henry C. Drummond.
Debi graduated from Lake Highlands High School and after college pursued a career as a Registered Nurse. She married her husband of over thirty-seven years, Colonel William J. Powell USMC(Ret.) in October of 1986. They resided in Woodland Park for twenty-nine years. Debi’s hands were rarely still and she became a gourmet cook and an accomplished quilter. She was known for her strong will, unwavering determination, and love and support for her family. Additionally, Debi loved people. She was kind hearted and always willing to help others. Her life was a living example of her favorite Bible verse, Joshua 1:9 - "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." She is now in the care of our Heavenly Father.
Debi is survived by her brother Mike Drummond, her sister Julie Drummond-Tommaney, daughters Catherine Forster-Hoffman, Jenny Frances Cowley Gardner, stepson Ben Powell, thirteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, as well as nephews and nieces. And her friends, especially Zonya and dearest friend Gail. All these she cared for deeply. Most of all Debi is missed by her husband Bill, every single day.
