David Beesley Obituary

On Tuesday, May 25th, 2021 at 1:03 pm David Russell Beesley passed away in his home.

David was born in Topeka to Russell & Dahlia Beesley on February 24th, 1943. In his youth Dave, served in the US Navy from 1959 – 1964, he also served in the US Army from 1965 – 1969. He then enlisted in the Reserves from 1972 – 1974. David served, fought, and sacrificed for his country; in the 12 years he dedicated his life, he was involved in several conflicts. David was a Patriotic Cowboy through and through. Later in life Dave earned his Associates Degree in Science and a Mechanical Engineering Certification.

In 1964 David married his lifelong partner, Cheryl “Sherrie”. Together they raised their children: Russell Guy Beesley, Robert M Beesley, and Barbara Christine Beesley. They lived together in several places; from Kansas, USA to Okinawa, Japan before finally settling down in Broomfield, CO, USA to raise their family. Down the road, Dave & Sherrie would retire and live a peaceful, small mountain town life in Cripple Creek, Colorado, they shared 56 beautiful years together. David believed his greatest accomplishment in life was his family, he was supportive and loving, and he always took great pride in his children and grandchildren.

David was known for his quick wit, his everlasting Faith in God, and for telling it like it is. He was an intelligent, kind, and compassionate man. He enjoyed tinkering in his garage, working on cars with his children, and sailing on his boat beside his wife. Often, he could be found sharing a drink with an old friend or loved one discussing anything from faith and life, to telling stories about his wild youth: Riding Bulls in the Rodeo or retelling one of his many adventures.

David was a passionate hard-working man who cared for others. He educated and mentored many young individuals in their professions and lives. He encouraged perseverance, self-support, and family values. He ensured all whom he cared for knew his home, door, and table were always available to them. He was often sought out for a laugh, wisdom and insight, or great comfort. He made a large meaningful impact on many, many lives. He will be dearly missed.

David is preceded in death by his father & mother, his 2 brothers Donald James Wright & Bernard “Frank” Beesley. He is survived by his loving wife Cheryl Beesley, their children & spouses: Russell Guy & Sharla Beesley, Robert & Susan Beesley, Bret & Barbara Christine Eismann, Grandchildren: Jacob & Jasmyn Prine, Forrest Beesley, Madison Beesley, Mason Eismann, Burke Eismann, and two Great Grandchildren: Audyn & Grayson Prine.

A Private Family Service will be held on July 10, 2021 at the Mt. Pisgah Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Cripple Creek, CO  80813.

“God looked around his garden and found an empty space.
He looked down upon the Earth and saw your tired face.
He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful
for he only takes the Best.
He knew that you were weary, and He knew that you were in pain.
He knew that you would never be well on Earth again.
He saw the roads were getting rough, and the hills were hard to climb.
So He closed your weary eyelids and whispered,
Peace be Thine.”
