Clarence "Terry" Carruth III

Clarence (Terry) Uri Carruth III, Age 78, died at the Aspen Assisted Living Center in Woodland Park, Colorado on Friday, February 07, 2020, from an apparent heart attack. Terry suffered from Alzheimer’s type dementia during the past few years.

Terry was born to Nancy and Clarence Carruth, Jr. on July 09, 1941 in New York City and grew up in Scarsdale, New York. His father was a prominent attorney in New York City.  After high school Terry attended Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut where he received a bachelor’s degree.  He later attended Columbia University where he received his master’s degree in film, radio and television production.  Terry served in the United States Air Force for 4 years, attaining the rank of Captain.

After his military service, Terry moved to Colorado Springs where he purchased and managed a KOA Campground for many years.  He was known for his love of taking care of rescue dogs throughout his lifetime, and for his love of helping people in need.  He resided in Divide, Colorado from 1987 to 2018 when he moved into the Aspen Assisted Living Center.

Terry has no surviving family members and was preceded in death by his parents.  He was a member of Highland Bible Church in Woodland Park, Colorado.  His church family provided love and care for his many needs.

A memorial service is scheduled at Highland Bible Church, 800 Research Drive, Woodland Park, Colorado, on Monday February 24th, 2020 at 6:30 P.M.  Interment will be in the Woodland Park Cemetery.
