On the morning of December 12, 2022, Christine “Chris” Brown Crisman 73, of Colorado Springs, CO, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family.
Born to Milford and Hilda Jorgensen on January 31,1949 in Tampa, Florida She grew up in the rural town of Ruskin Florida, the youngest of three daughters. Her father worked in Horticulture and her mother as a Secretary for Council Farms She grew up very close to her grandparents, aunts, uncles and many cousins and was happy to add more to the bunch!
In 1965, she married Arthur Gary Brown of Wimauma, FL. They raised 3 sons and later adopted their granddaughter. They lived in Sun City, FL for many years until they divorced.
Chris had many struggles in life but remained a compassionate and faithful person who loved being a mom, grandma and great grandma. She was loving and playful with her grandchildren and loved spending time with them as much as she could. She was proud of her grown children and so amazed with their accomplishments.
Chris was always ready with a complement and a kind word that could put anyone at ease and brighten their day. Her smile, kindness and a hug revealed a ready heart to welcome everyone into her home whether in need of advice or just a time to visit. Once there, you were part of the family.
Chris was a lady of many talents. Her favorites were playing the piano and sewing. She played piano for the church, children’s choir, and countless specials, made lots of clothes, some quilts, and lots of mending (especially, rescuing stuffed animals!)
She also had numerous jobs over the years but the two she loved the most were working as a Sheriff's Deputy in Hillsborough County, Florida and teaching. She continued to share stories and self-defense moves into her 70's and touched the lives of those she taught.
In December 2013, she married Dennis Crisman of Colorado Springs, CO. She also gained 3 daughters and 8 grandchildren at that time.
She is preceded in death by her parents Milford and Hilda Jorgensen and ex-husband Arthur Gary Brown.
She is survived by her husband Dennis Crisman of Colorado Springs, CO, her sisters Thea Whitehead and Linda Tate, her children Larry Brown, Gary "Butch" (Lisa) Brown, Clint (Kathy) Brown and Toby (Peter) Barker her stepdaughters Cristy (Matt) Cordova, Brandy Crisman and Rebecca (Frank) Arellano.
