Charlotte Kramp Obituary

LIFE TRIBUTE – CHARLOTTE MAE KRAMP

Charlotte Mae Kramp, a longtime resident of Florissant, left this world September 23, 2021 at the age of 91.

She was born the third of ten siblings to Henry and Hattie (Adler) Hoeft on August 20, 1930 and grew up in the farming community of Stratford South Dakota. She married Wayne D Kramp August 7, 1949 and started her married life in the Aberdeen area.  They moved to Rapid City and eventually ended up at the Black Hills Ordinance Depot (Igloo) South Dakota, where both she and Wayne began working for the  Civil Service.  In the years there they made many lifelong friends with whom they remained in touch when the Depot closed in 1965 and the employees scattered across the country. After moving to Colorado, She went to work for Ampex Corporation and retired in August 1984, the same time as Wayne did from Fort Carson.  For a time they became snowbirds, first as RV’ers,  then they purchased a second home in San Diego CA near Wayne’s brother and his family.

She loved hunting and was an excellent shot, rarely failing to fill her elk tag. She also loved to fish and it took very little encouragement to go get a line wet; whether it was a small lake, stream or ocean.  She had been a Denver Broncos fan since moving to Colorado and actually was able to attend a couple of games in person.

Charlotte and Wayne had six children, two boy and four girls, Charles W Kramp, Cheryl A Kramp, Nancy A Ely, Kelly G Kramp, Vickie L Endsley and Tammy R Kramp, who blessed them with 17 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. One of the greatest joys in her life was anytime she could spend with any of her family, her’s or any of the numerous sisters, brothers, sister’s in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews and friends. She loved large family gatherings (reunions in South Dakota) and those at her home, where until the last few years she would cook and feed any that showed up at her door, she then passed the torch to her daughters and nieces.  Anyone who left her home hungry just quit early.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband Wayne in 2008, eldest son Charles in 2018 and seven of her siblings. Charlotte was a loving giving individual that will be greatly missed by family and friends alike, leaving a large hole in our hearts.
