Buford Spigner Obituary

Buford Taylor “Jim” Spigner, age 85, of Lake George, Colorado passed away Wednesday November 9, 2022 in Colorado Springs, Colorado of pancreatic cancer. Buford was born August 18, 1937 in Conroe, Texas to Willis and Myrtle Spigener.

Buford attended Reagan High School in Houston, Texas. He served eight years in the Texas Army National Guard. Buford also worked for Texas Highway Department for 15 years. He co-owned with his wife Ponderosa Country Store in Lake George, Colorado for 35 years before retiring. Buford loved fishing, boating, hunting, traveling in their motorhome, camping, and the Dallas Cowboys football team. He had a strong relationship with the Lord.

Buford is survived by spouse Joan Spigner of Lake George, Colorado; daughter Debbie Gurley of Divide, Colorado; daughter Sherri Lutz of Fanning Springs, Florida; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.

Buford was preceded in death by his parents Willis & Myrtle Spigener and brother Royce Spigener.

Viewing will be held on November 13, 2022 1 pm, at Mountain Memorial Funeral Home, Divide, CO.

Visitation will be November 21, 2022 from 4:30-7:00 PM at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home and Cemetery, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, Texas 77060. Funeral services will be November 22, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Earthman Resthaven and will be officiated by Larry Koslovsky with a committal service to follow in the cemetery.

Pallbearers: Joseph Middleton II, Joshua Hensch, Jason Lynch, Daniel Lutz, Mark Lynch, and Dustin-Wyatt Clark.
