Betty R. Corwin passed away peacefully on September 22 at her home in Florissant, Colorado. She was 93.
Betty grew up in Jellico, Tennessee. After completing school, she moved to Ohio to look for work. She met and married Vincent Corwin in Dayton, Ohio. They had 3 children. Along with caring for her young family, she worked in food service. She moved with her family to Massachusetts, Maine and New Jersey before settling in Vail, Colorado. She found work at Safeway in Vail and had a long career there and shared her joy with the people around her. She was a member of the Mount of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church. After retiring she moved to Florissant, Colorado.
She is survived by her sons, Dennis and Tim, and daughter, Karen Valas; grandchildren, Justin Valas and Kimberley Corwin; great granddaughter, Maya Valas; and sister, Mary Sue Thomas.
She will be remembered as a kind and loving soul that had a smile and a story for everyone she met. She had the ability to talk you into doing what she wanted in a sweet southern way and you were happy to do it.
A service will be held September 29th at 12:30 at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
