Arika Rena Zittlosen, 50, of Florissant, Colorado, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2021 of liver failure at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs with her devoted husband and sister by her side.
She was born on April 28, 1971 in Denver, Colorado the daughter of Eric and Donna Ewert.
She was married to her beloved husband Ray Zittlosen in Tucson, Arizona on December 10, 2004.
Arika lived and loved large, was vivacious, straight-forward and yet tender-hearted to the max. She had the most infectious laugh that would light up your soul. She was a vocalist, loved the mountains, enjoyed good conversation and people, especially her students who knew her affectionately as Z.
She earned a Bachelors and her EMT certificate.
She is survived by her husband: Ray Zittlosen, mother: Donna Irwin, sister: Joi Shepard-Mull and step children: Bryan and Brianna Zittlosen, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A memorial service will be held Friday, May 28 at 10:00 AM at the 4-Mile Fire Station, 8437 County Road 11, Florissant, CO 80816.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Aspen Mine Center 166 E. Bennett Ave, Cripple Creek Colorado.
If unable to attend, you may send cards to Mountain Memorial Funeral Home.
