Alberta Marie Healy

Alberta (Berti) Marie Healy passed away surrounded by her loved ones at her home on June 9th, 2021. Berti was born in Mattis Point, Newfoundland. She spent all of her childhood there and Stephenville Crossing. She worked at a diner when she was 18. That's where she waited on a table, and met the love of her life. From here is where her and Thomas Healy started their journey of 58 years. They were married December 1st, 1961. Berti had many jobs being stationed many different places with her husband that was in the Air Force. From working in the potato fields, moving companies and when they settled down in Colorado, 20 years at Walter Drakes. She was an adventurer, always going to mountain towns, cruises, traveling to many states and countries. She enjoyed dancing with all her friends at TREA. She knew every line dance. When she retired they built a home in Florissant in 99 where they purchased land in the 70s. Berti volunteered and supported her community in Florissant. Her competitive side showed when she started going to the auction. She loved her collections of salt & pepper shakers, glass, barbies, to name a few. She loved her dogs, planting flowers and Christmas, who else had a Christmas closet. She always provided a warm, welcoming home. Her heart was happiest when her family was with her. From holidays, visits or a phone call, she held this time dear. Berti cherished her children and grandchildren. She was absolutely a loving, straight forward, generous, quick witted, beautiful soul. As we all grieve and our hearts hurt with the loss of her we find comfort knowing she is now reunited with her husband (12/23/2018) and they are together, continuing their journey. 

She is survived by her daughter Robin Rupp of Cripple Creek, CO. Son Tom T Healy of Colorado Springs, CO. Granddaughters, Chandra Healy of Florissant, CO and Danika Abastta of Manitou Springs, CO. Sister Marie Mitchell (Don) of Kingston, Ontario. Sister in law Patricia Webb of Tuscon, AZ. Many neices, nephews, family in Canada, dear friends and her fur kids, Misty, Charlie and Kody.

Proceded in death by her husband Thomas Healy, parents John and Alice Brumsey, Daughter in law Christine Healy, many brothers and sisters, extended family and friends.

Please join us to celebrate her life. No matter if you were family or friends, she loved us all and provided us with memories we will never forget. Services will be held at Mountain Memorial 51 CO Rd. 5 in Divide, CO on July 11th, 2021 at 1:00 P.M.
