Retired SSG Aaron Arthur Wiggins, 57 years old passed at home in Florissant Colorado on December 11th, 2020 surrounded by family.
Aaron was a highly decorated non commissioned officer is the US Army, he did 4 tours of duty in Irag during Dessert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. In December of 2003 he was awarded The Bronze Star Medal for exceptionally meritous service while assigned as the mortar section sergeant of Crazyhorse troop during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Staff Sergeant Wiggins was crucial to the success of this troop, squadron, and the regiment while conducting combat, stability and security operations in towns of Fallujah, Hadithah, and Al Qaim. His actions bring great credit to himself, Crazyhorse troop, the regiment of mounted rifleman and the United States Army. Aaron was an avid outdoors man who loved fishing and hunting with his family.
Aaron was born in Fayettville NC to on December 5th,1963 to parents Geraldine and Joe L. Wiggins who is also a military veteran. He is survived his wife Lisa Wiggins, daughters Jessica L. Mizell and Meghan Schiavo, and his sons Aaron J. Wiggins, Cory J. Wiggins, Anthony Keelan and Patrick Schiavo, grandchildren Rhyli Sue and Kellie Rae Searles, Mother Geraldine Wiggins, siblings Deborah Wiggins, Brenda Hilton, Howard Wiggins, Jackie Harris and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and a great nephew. He is predeceased by his son Nicholaus Searles and his father Joe L. Wiggins.
Graveside Service and military honors will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at 11 am at at Pikes Peak National Cemetery,1045 E. Drennan Road Colorado Springs, CO 80929.
