Thomas S. Meals, 65, of Chipita Park, Colorado, passed away on April 27, 2019, surrounded by family and friends.

He was born to parents Robert and Virginia (Byrd) Meals, on September 18, 1953, in Denver, Colorado. He joined twin siblings Betty and Robert (Bob) Meals. Tom graduated from Broomfield High School and received degrees in Geology and Electrical Engineering from Colorado State University. He went on and married the love of his life at Sky Ranch Lutheran Camp.

Tom was a mountain of a man with a heart of gold. His grin could light up the world, and his bear hugs simply melted all your worries away. His faith in the Lord made him an amazing husband and father. He is survived by his wife Sue Ann, sons Eric and Byron, daughter Mindy (Alex) Knuth, grand-daughter Daphne, and sister Betty (Craig) Sullivan.

Tom was a strong, kind, loyal, hard working pillar in the community. He was liked and respected by many. His philosophy was to work hard and give back. One way to give back was in the form of a community ball park on his land. He personally rejoiced in the simple things in life; lazy afternoons on a creekbed with a ham & cheese sandwich, or chicken on a Sunday afternoon just watching the mountains and wildlife. Some of his many interests/passions included: beekeeping, paleontology, gold panning, gemstone mining, space exploration, traveling, gardening, hunting, star gazing, Star Trek, and Vikings.

The service will be held on Friday, May 3, 2019, at 3 p.m., viewing will begin at 2 pm at Faith Lutheran Church in Woodland Park, CO. Reception and burial to follow.

I only met him twice but from what I knew he was a kind man that looked like Santa Claus and would dress up as Santa for kids I'm sorry that Christmas will never be the same for you
